How Gutprint finds your triggers

What happens behind the scenes when you log meals and symptoms.

2 min read

Every time you log a meal, Gutprint looks at how you felt in the 1โ€“12 hours afterwards. Over time it compares your symptoms after meals that contained a food with meals that didn't.

Why we wait for evidence

A single rough evening after pizza doesn't prove anything โ€” maybe you were stressed or slept badly. Gutprint needs a food to show up several times before it labels it, and it shows a confidence level (low, medium, high) so you know how strong the pattern is.

How to get faster, sharper results

  1. Log every meal and drink, even small snacks.
  2. Check in on how you feel 2โ€“3 times a day โ€” including when you feel good. "No symptoms" is valuable data.
  3. Keep going for at least two weeks. Most people see their first clear pattern between day 10 and day 14.

Safe foods matter too

Gutprint also highlights foods that seem to agree with you, so you can build meals with confidence instead of only cutting things out.
